In this month’s newsletter we share an update from our recent AGM at which, alongside our governance, we held a discussion on how members are feeling about the current position and direction of the Club. The discussion has helped form the Trust’s approach going forward.
Expectations of Club ownership
At this month’s AGM, we held a discussion to gather members’ views on what our expectations for any Club owner should be. As a democratic organisation, we are committed to representing our thousands of members, ensuring their voices shape our campaigning efforts. The Trust consistently takes strategic direction from its members, using both the annual Fan Survey and the AGM to guide its approach.
Based on our discussion and insights from our survey, we have outlined key principles that fans have the right to expect from the current and future owners of THFC.
- Commit to winning: Invest to the level needed to secure league and cup success.
- Attract & retain talent: Build a transfer policy and competitive wages to secure top players.
- Future-proof success: Develop elite youth talent to strengthen the squad and sustain excellence.
- Lead with integrity: Champion ethical standards, strong governance, and financial sustainability—reinvesting in the team while keeping tickets affordable.
- Fans first: Engage, consult, and collaborate with supporters and their representatives to build loyalty, passion, and success on and off the pitch.
Going forward, these principles will shape our campaigning efforts and hold the Club to account. Indeed, THST Board members are meeting THFC later in February and will discuss these as well as ticketing and other matters.
Additionally, we will engage with the wider football community to advocate for and promote these standards. We will collaborate with other fan groups on these principles and other issues to protect supporters rights and we back the Spurs Charter and the Stop Exploiting Loyalty campaign.
AGM update
The AGM was held on 3 February 2025.
We welcome two new Board members agreed at the meeting: Andy Bass and Roy Beck. The THST Board now consists of Andy Bass, Roy Beck, Stephen Cavalier, Tristan Foot, James Glick, Jo Gibbons, Michael Green and Rachel Martin.
We are extremely grateful for the work of those Board members who stood down at the AGM. We have previously reported that former chair Martin Buhagiar has stood down and we also said goodbye to Rob White, Anthony Morkos and Henry Ellis. Rob did much to build stronger links between the Club and the local community; Anthony served as treasurer and kept us financially on track and Henry’s financial background allowed us to question the Club on its finances with real detail and expertise. We wish them all well.
We still have places available on the Board so if you are interested in getting involved or just finding our more please do get in touch: info@THSTOfficial.com
Security and on-entry searches for our away match at Brentford.
Our recent visit to Brentford was a very enjoyable one in most ways, but was marred for some, by the way Spurs fans were treated on entry to the G Tech. Many were forced to hand over their wallets, the contents of which were then taken out and examined by stewards. This is apparently because Brentford do not use sniffer dogs.
We are by no means the only Supporters’ Trust who have complained about this: to the Club and to the Football Supporters’ Association. The FSA continue to monitor the situation and are keeping a log of the complaints received.
We are asking anyone who experienced this and was unhappy with their treatment, to email an account to Brentford FC and the FSA. Please send your experience to report@brentfordfc.com and copy in victoria.goodfellow@thefsa.org.uk and us at info@THSTOfficial.com. We will also be sharing these with supporter services at Spurs and asking that they give more specific advice to supporters in their match day email.
Away fans in home areas
It’s been noticeable that there have been considerable numbers of away fans in home areas of the ground at certain games this season, particularly our recent matches against Manchester United and Liverpool. This means that Spurs fans are missing out on seeing their team and also can be very annoying – especially if goals are being openly celebrated.
Our advice, if you see people who are very obviously away fans in home areas is to please report to a steward or use the texting service during the game.
Text OTHER followed by Away fans in Block X, Row Y Seat Z to 07537404821
This way the Club can deal with the situation at the time and the situation is logged and followed up on. Reporting it after the game is generally too late to achieve a successful outcome.
We all need to get behind the team and help to create a fantastic atmosphere, surrounded by fellow Spurs fans. Let’s all be the 12th man.

We are pleased to share this review, which was written by one of our guests and which has been published in the Jewish News. Copies of the book can be purchased at all good booksellers. Here’s the review.
