We also announce our Meet the Podcasters event for September and outline our ongoing campaign against Ticket Share restrictions. We say a heartfelt farewell to Son Heung-min, and share key details for those travelling to the Super Cup Final in Udine. Last chance to have your say – Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust Survey 2025
Time is running out to complete the THST Survey for 2025. This is the final opportunity for fans to share their views on the issues that matter most to them. The survey is open to all Spurs supporters, not just members of the Trust, and it only takes around five minutes to complete. This year’s survey has been streamlined to make it quicker and easier to fill in, but your feedback is more important than ever. The responses we collect will shape the questions and challenges we put directly to the Club. The more fans who take part, the louder our collective voice becomes — and the harder it is for the Club to ignore. Don’t miss your chance to speak up. Complete the survey now and encourage fellow Spurs fans to do the same before it closes: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/X3L6PMD

Ticket share – Back our campaign
A sting in the tail of the welcome announcement of ticket price freezes for the coming season was the proposal to restrict Ticket Share to members, whereas previously it could be used to transfer to anyone holding a CRN. As a result, season ticket holders who may previously have transferred, say, one ticket a year to a young family member, will not be able to do so unless that person has signed up for membership. Many may conclude it’s not worth the additional cost for the one or two matches a year they may potentially attend.
While we support the aim of improving the offering to members, we, and the FAB, warned that this would be seen as a money grab and would be unpopular. Our email inbox tells us that we were right. With the new season about to start, the impact of this change is becoming wider known and opposition remains strong.
We remain in dialogue with the Club about rescinding or mitigating the impacts of this change and have a meeting scheduled to revisit this change next month. If you have been affected by this please email supporterservices@tottenhamhotspur.com (copying info@thstofficial.com) outlining the impact. We made a similar call when the Club abolished the cup guarantee scheme and your response reinforced the unpopularity of the change and strengthened our arguments in discussions with the Club, ultimately resulting in the restoration of the scheme. We hope to achieve a similar effect this time.
Son Heung Min

The news that Sonny is leaving us this summer and starting a new challenge elsewhere, sees the end of an era. Sonny has graced our Club for ten amazing years. He has played for us in 454 competitive games, scored 173 goals, with a further 101 assists. He scored the first goal at our new stadium, he’s won the Puskas Award, the PL Golden Boot, our Player of the Year award several times and he’s crowned it all with leading us to victory in Bilbao, giving us the silverware we have all craved for so long.
On top of that he has shown our club enormous loyalty, he has conducted himself with integrity, humility, and a seemingly endless supply of optimism and passion. He leaves us all with so many amazing memories, and he will always be part of Spurs’ DNA and history. He is a ‘Club Legend’ and everyone at the Trust wishes him success and happiness in everything he does, moving forwards.
We have recorded our gratitude to Sonny in media interviews and on our own channels, and we will be speaking with the Club about ideas to honour his, and other legends’, legacy.
UEFA Super Cup Final vs PSG

With the competitive season kicking off for us with the UEFA Super Cup final vs PSG on Wednesday 13 August, here are some important details for those heading to Udine:
- Photo ID Required: Photo ID (Passport, driving license etc) is required for entry to the stadium. There are no exemptions, and your ID must match the details on your ticket.
- Alcohol Policy: There will be no alcohol sold/permitted in the stadium.
- Event Guide: An official event guide is now available on the official UEFA Champions League app with maps and mobility plans.
- Fan Meeting Point (FMP): Spurs will have a FMP in the centre of Udine at the Piazza Prima Maggio, with a stage and entertainment from 10 am on matchday, finishing at 6 pm.
- Travel: Shuttles to the stadium will be available at the FMP from 5:30 pm, and return to the same location afterwards.
- Survey: Ticketholders please fill in the UEFA mobility survey as this will help to inform local plans for travel, including to major centres after the game, and help to try and avoid the types of issues experienced in Bilbao. A link will be sent to all ticket holders.
Bill Nicholson Gates
It was great to see the unveiling of the restored Bill Nicholson Gates in a new location by the stadium. The Trust has encouraged the Club to show how much Spurs’ heritage matters and, alongside the Fan Advisory Board, the Trust has championed the restoration and reinstallation of the Gates in a location accessible to fans.
THST and the FAB were represented at the unveiling on 25 July when Bill’s daughter Jean Bell and Club Chairman Daniel Levy officially re-opened the gates. A number of Bill’s former players also attended the ceremony and you can read the article on the Club’s website here.

The gates look fantastic and have been positioned near the ticket office with a reproduction of the iconic photograph by Peter Robinson as the backdrop. It is a great opportunity for fans to have their own photos taken in front of the gates and share in this celebration of the proud history of the Club.
Peter Robinson was also at the event, still taking photos, and an exhibition of his fabulous football photos can be seen in the OOF Gallery within the Spurs shop. It is well worth a visit.
THST fully supports the importance of recognising and celebrating the Club’s heritage and we will continue to work with the Club on further ways this can be marked. In particular, THST remains firmly committed to the establishment of a Club museum at the stadium site and we will continue to lobby the Club for this as a fitting tribute to the Club’s history and an attraction for all fans to visit.
Football Governance Act
The Football Governance Act completed its passage through Parliament and received Royal Assent on 21 July 2025, which means that it is now officially on the statute book as the law of the land.
The legislation introduces an Independent Football Regulator, aiming to prevent the financial failures and other mismanagement that have caused so much damage, and in some cases destruction, to a number of clubs within the top five leagues.
The new rules include financial regulation to improve financial sustainability and resilience and a stronger Owners’ and Directors’ test to vet current and potential owners of clubs and ensure they meet required standards of probity.
The Act also makes it a legal requirement for clubs to establish proper fan engagement structures and to consult with supporters’ organisations on the club’s strategic direction and objectives; the club’s business priorities; operational and match-day issues, including ticket pricing; the club’s heritage and the club’s plans relating to additional fan engagement.
The legislation fulfils a manifesto commitment of the Labour government and is the culmination of a long campaign by the Football Supporters’ Association and other supporters’ groups, including THST. The campaign was given added urgency by the failed attempt at a breakaway European Super League in 2021 which resulted in the establishment of a Fan Led Review. The new Act includes a ban on clubs forming or joining breakaway leagues.
Many of the structures required by the legislation are already in place at THFC through the formal consultation with THST and the Fan Advisory Board. It is nonetheless welcome to have those obligations supported by the force of law and to have proper standards and enforcement mechanisms against which fan engagement and supporter consultation can be upheld.
Atmosphere at the Stadium

THST is represented on the Club’s Atmosphere Working Party along with other members of the Fan Advisory Board and key club personnel. We, along with our colleagues including Return of the Shelf, champion the role of supporter groups like THFC Flags but urge the Club to actively support them through amplifying their requests for volunteers, and listening to their perspectives on a range of matters.
Communication is key and we certainly learn of valid reasons and obstacles in some instances, to achieving common goals. However, we are also able to put fan perspectives on which initiatives are likely to be welcomed and which not, e.g. through feeling too contrived. We have also benefitted from hearing of player preferences and we’ve urged the Club to share these more widely, e.g. through ‘to camera’ pieces where players talk about ‘their’ songs, or the rituals that make an impact on them, such as the trumpeter.
We think we can all agree that some recent efforts such as pre-match Tifos and taking the flags to away games in Europe, have been a huge hit. And while we can’t share details, we feel confident that some of the ideas for the next season are really positive and a huge step in the right direction towards the atmosphere we want to build at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Our Forum has a space for you to leave your views on which songs really matter to you, and which are a definite no. Do get involved and leave your ideas here.
Football Supporters Association / Football Supporters Europe
Toward the end of the month Trust representatives participated in two meetings with the FSA and/or FSE. The first was a briefing from FSE on the arrangements for the Super Cup Final (see story above). The second kicked off the FSA/FSE working group, chaired by former Trust Co-Chair Kat Law, for representatives of supporter groups of clubs participating in European competitions in the 2025-26 season. With fixtures yet to be determined, the meeting acted as a reminder of the role of the FSE in ensuring minimum standards for away supporters and the importance of sharing feedback amongst the representatives, the FSA and FSE, and ultimately UEFA on the away fan experience in European competitions.
Sanctions
The Trust has been approached by a number of fans recently who have fallen foul of the Club’s Sanctions and Banning Policy, particularly in light of the issues surrounding the away match at Liverpool towards the end of last season. We are available to provide impartial advice on navigating the appeals process for those that feel they have been unjustly sanctioned via info@thstofficial.com. In such cases, it is best to contact us prior to submitting any appeal; the options for overturning a sanction become limited after this point.
Daniel Levy on The Overlap
We have been encouraging the Club to communicate more openly with supporters for many years. It’s important that we get to hear from the relevant personnel on a range of issues, and that we don’t rely on the first team manager to try and explain the Club’s direction. For example, leaving Ryan Mason to explain the Club’s catastrophic decision to join a breakaway European Super League, was completely unacceptable. Since then we have welcomed the set piece events such as the introduction of the end of transfer window wrap, and the in-person fan forums. But these are merely a starting point.
In our meetings with Vinai Venkatesham, we have encouraged him to set up more of these statements and interviews, and we are pleased to see that both he and Daniel Levy are sharing more information. It’s very early days but there are some encouraging signs. Timely communication, on the right issues, coming from the right people, is key.
This episode of The Overlap in which Daniel Levy is interviewed by Gary Neville, provides another opportunity to understand the direction Levy sets. In this interview, we may not, in fact we definitely do not, agree with everything that was said, in particular Daniel’s continued opposition to a football regulator (although there is an acceptance that this is a structure with which he must now work) and it will not benefit fans. This is not the view of the fans, with practically all organised supporter groups, including THST, having lobbied government and campaigned for the establishment of the IFR to ensure legally required structures for fan engagement are in place and meaningfully used.
Here’s a link to the episode. Give it a watch and let us know what you think, on the THST Forum.
