The THST Board is aware of increasing concern amongst the fanbase over the direction and ownership of the Club. THST will continue to support the rights of supporters to exercise free speech within the law which includes the right to protest.
THST is a member organisation and as such, is bound by the views of its members. When THST members and the wider fanbase were surveyed at the end of last year, only 15% were dissatisfied with ENIC’s performance as stewards of the Club throughout the 2023-24 season. This was a marked decrease from the previous year when 67% were unhappy.
However, fan sentiment can change very quickly and we will therefore seek our members’ views at our AGM on 3 February. Members will be asked to consider their support, or lack of support, for ENIC’s stewardship as well as whether they would like THST to back other supporter movements that call for changes in the stewardship of the club and/or to seek improvements in the governance of the Club.
The Chair of THST, Michael Green, said “THST is a democratic organisation and its Board is duty-bound to act upon the views of its members. It may be a cliché, but it is also true – fans are the lifeblood of the Club. It needs to do better at reflecting their aspirations.”
